I've been a member of farkin for quiet a while and I don't say much, just read, but i have noticed that there are constant references to cars in various subjects.
Personally I like cars a lot, I dunno why, I just do and my favourite car would probably be the Aston Martin DB9 or DBS (James bond's car).

I am intereseted to see what your favourite car or cars are, even post your own bueaty if you want.

Super car wise would have to be the DB9 as well, or preferably the DBR9 (racing version of the DB9, shown on top gear).
But in the reasonably priced range would have to be an evo 8 or 9, those are just awesome cars.
I don't care much for cars at all but I must say the Bentley Continental GT is one of the nicest things on four wheels. Shit I don't even know the specs/stats or anything else other than it looks bloody incredible:cool:

On topic- favourite car, it's a tough choice but it would be between Mercedes SLR Mclaren and Ford GT.
XW Falcon GT in silver Fox with orange stripes. Used to drive past one every day on the way to work.....Damn that thing looked tough!

Another fan of the Aston DB9 here, that or a Henessy Motorsports Dodge Viper. 1000hp, 100 lb-ft torque, top speed 255mph and 0-60 in 3.2 seconds. Kills the bugatti veyron (in a straight line anyway) and only costs $225,000US, not bad for the Worlds fastest street car.

I will be buying an Audi allroad.
Pic here :http://www.autoblog.it/uploads/audi_allroad_quattro_02.jpg
It's basically an expensive (100k :( ) v8 Subaru Outback, but what I love about it is it's suspension.
It has air suspension, so you can raise the car on dirt roads, keep it at a normal height for carpark/surburban driving and lower it for twisty roads.

YOU HAVE RETARDATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the dodge may be able to beat it off the line but 2seconds later and the bugatti would be out of site. nothing can beat the bugatti in a straight line

talking about bang for your buck? Corvette C6 Z06. faster 0 - 100 (3.7secs) than the Lambo Gallardo (3.9), Ferrari F430(3.9), Astin DB9 (4.1) and various porsches.
for a car that rolls in at $au240k it must suck when it can beat a $au450+k car with ease.
Even worse is the fully optioned vette only costs $89k in the US. ouch...

I just love and have always loved the Ferrari F40 mmmmmmmmm sex on wheels, also the 250 GTO.
Lambo Muira and Diablo
Also always loved the old Ford GT40 and prefer the old over the new GT.
Ummmm can't go past the looks of a Aston DB9 and also really like the Koenigsegg CCX as a whole.
As for a car that may one day be within my reach an Audi RS4 would suit nicely.

Had one of these out the front of my house last week. Ferrari mondena.... Have got an Audi mechanic in the house next door & it had just been traded in on an audi TT that day, so they thought they'd test drive it....Made all the TT supras look like vl commy's.... Then pulled up out the front of my house to show it off, left it running for 3 minutes. next thing there is water all over the ground from where the massive v8 has had problems with heating and been topped up with water. 30 minutes later a tow truck picked it up.

Any old school V8. I absolutely love the Ford F series Especially the 50's, 60's and 70's. Toyota Hilux's with massive lift kits good sound system, massive offroad mud tyres!! That would have to be my dream car for sure. And my dads 1965 Cadillac Coupe Deville just because it looks and feels so good, the suspension is extremely soft you can push the rear end down and it almost is down as low as it goes!! And it can fit my hardtail in the boot with ease(Massive Boot!!)

Barabus TKR
6.0 liter twin turbo V8 engine and dual intercoolers produces a maximum of 1005 hp, accelerates from zero to 62 mph in just 1.67 seconds and achieves a maximum speed of 270 mph -- that's almost 20 mph more than the Veyron!

not too bad actually. remember this is the z06, not the regular c6 coupe. Runs different suspension, different chassis and has a new steering setup compared to the regular car.
its around 7th fastest on the top gear test track if i recall. They also picked up 1st and 2nd in Le Mans this season, as well as the faultless 1st place record for the last 7 seasons.
http://www.corvetteracing.com/history/2006releases/lemans/lemans8.shtml
not too shabby, and while its the not the z06 explicitly, any car that can full complete the 355 laps and drive at full race conditions for 24 hours is definitely tough!
Interesting to see that the main contender is the AM DB9. Ferrari, porsche, lambo, etc who all boast GT badged cars arent up there...

Volkswagen lose a lot more than 50k pounds per Veyron, I read somewhere, unsure where, that the total cost of the project divided by the projected number of cars being sold brings the loss closer to 4 million pounds per unit. However, when you take into consideration the research data and technology advances that will trickle down through their other car lines it shall eventually balance out.

might be easier and cheaper to source a monaro. both the vauxhall and pontiacs are both adapted monaros that holden exported to the UK and US.
The only export you'd wont to get back is the VXR500, a supercharged crazy version of the monaro. (http://youtube.com/watch?v=4UN6FxoQEPM) why holden didnt option this for the last run i dont know, but its pretty awesome.
Of course you could always get a HSV GTO monaro and whack a blower on there, but theres something about factory hardcore that does it for me :D

Err, dude, bit of an oxymoron there. They all had smallblocks. Can't have a big block AND be all original.

My favourite cars would have to be the old holden toranas such as the SLR5000, A9X (which is a racing version of the SLR5000) and the GTR XU1.
Dads still spewing that he dosent have his SLR anymore as they are worth a fair bit of money now.

Didn't they race both with much success? The A9x is a 2 door the slr5000 was a 4 door.

I reckon that the holden hsv maloo R8 is the coolest ute around. It looks cool and also sounds nice. It's the ultimate ute.

hey there corvette loving buddy!
at $240k its a snip compared to a lambo or ferrari, but still expensive. if you could still drive one LHD in aus, a private import would slice ~$90k off the australian price.
unfortunately you cant, and compliance + LHD to RHD swap costs money, especially when no RHD conversion kit exists and all parts are fabricated by hand.

For me there can be only one.... Make that two.
Lancia Stratos
A stock red one,
And a fully loaded rally weapon.
Ready to spit you into the nearest tree if not treated with absolute recpect.
Small, agile, difficult and demanding.
What could be more fun than a car that might bite you on the arse any second.
Bring back scary supercars like the Countach,F40 and Stratos.
No traction control, no electronic stability control, just fast and fun.

I will vouch for the Countach, they are the most uncomfortable cars to be in. You sit on an angle pointing towards the middle of the car, and the steering wheel is in a position where a normally lined seat would be. The wide front wheels come into the body and hence make the need for the pedals to be closer to th emiddle of the car. I was only a passenger and was gettign uncomfortable, I would have hated to be the driver. Was a fucking awsome car though!

as well as the A9X model you could get the ss model hatchback too, in 3.3, 4.2 and 5.0 litre. there was even a sleeper hutch accessory to 'convert your hatchback into a mini-camper in minutes'.
my favourite car would be a 1932 ford coupe. 302 winsdor (out to 347ci), alloy heads, 150hp shot of nitrous. matt black, red steely wheels and white wall tyres. knda old school in appearance but cut very low 11's/high 10's on the qaurter. :D

Ahhh I bear to be different:D
My car:
1986 Toyota Sprinter Trueno GT Apex AE86, 4AG, 15" simmons with low profile Yokos, Jetspeed bodykit, lowered 2", AE92 brakes, Red with Black hood and black front bumper.
Theres more but I just cant be bothered listing it:p It is 5am you know!
And My dads' car:
1982 Mazda RX7 Series 2, "Whale Tail" bodykit (huge spoiler), 15" simmons, 13B Turbo out of S5 RX7, Black, bridgeport coming.
They both look awesome, but I have to say that the Sprinter is more fun to drive. The RX7 is ridiculously over-powered with bridgeport, so that's why we're going to put it in:D . The Sprinter owes me $6000 all up with rego, and the Rex owes my dad just on $8500

I would've suggested a Delta S4 instead. Twice the power and forced induction, One aussie mag labelled it "the Hannibal Lecter of Group B Rallying"
Took a few lives with it before it was banned from competition.

500hp in a car that's slightly shorter than a Pulsar GTi-R... INS4NITY.

I'll post up one as soon as I can, evilBay is the answer, I got mine from Sydney, exactly how it is but without the bumper and wheels really cheap. They are the best cars ever, I havent driven a better car yet. It's jus the best balanced car, good power, light weight.

Bugatti Atlantic...
Snaps to the first person who tells me how many of them there are, and the name of one prominent owner.
There's 3 production and 1 Aérolithe concept car. R Lauren showed his newly restored one at Pebble Beach last year or the year before from memory and a Atlantic won it 2004.
