i dropped my bike off to get a single speed put on and i just got a call saying theres a bit of a problem. the dmr kit comes with a 16t rear and i wanted to run 24/14. but for some reason the 14t wouldnt work with the tensioner. so the mechanic has gone 36/21 gearing ahahaha. its going to look so retarded with a huge gear at the back.

ill post pics when i pick it up in an hour or so.

haha that is gonna look so funny, i run 30-14 without a tensioner and my chain doesnt come off you could always try running 25-14 without a tensioner you just cant be afraid of getting your frame scratched hehe...

nah, its just a gear out of the standard cluster.

its still got the cassete rear hub on it.

yep, in a couple of months my NS will be finished then this will be reverted back to gears and used as a commuter.

but they are a pretty good street bike for the price.

Maybe, just maybe. If you ride heaps good nobady will give you stick about your gears. If its not your day ride really bad so they will take pitty on you for being mentals challenged.

If your using that front chainring which is original spec on the cranks, which also happens to be ramped and pinned for shifting, get ready to leave your gonads on the stem when you go to sprint or take off quickly... So long gonads!!!!!!!!!!!

the chainline is pretty much perfect so im not too worried at the moment. if it does decide to start jumping off ive a truative box guide i can chuck on.

run a shimano tensioner. compatible with 11 tooth gearing.... dont bother trying to run it so the tensioner is pushing down it will just wear your cog, chain and sprocket out quicker.

The tensioner would work no problems, I used to run one on 28-13 gearing just fine.

yeah me too jeremy, mine is an stp1 with 32:14 and i have the same tensioner as you (ned) aswell.
