...and badder than ever!

-1997ish? (afaik) Easton XC Frame. Originally owned by Jordan fo Bike Addiction, sold/given to Simon Lemond, brother former AMB editor Nick Lemond, sold to a mutual friend, given to me as a loaner when my bike got stolen, given back & now sold back to me. Phew!
1st off road ride yesterday. Goes like a dream. Light (but will be lighter), stiff, fast. Loving big front tire after last year or so skinnies:

glass bike?

About 1.5-2 years ago I was in between DH bikes & my street/dj bike had just gotten stolen. So my friend (who had ceased riding altogether) lent me this bike in it's previous guise. It weighed about 13.5kg, & compared to everyone else's overbuilt street HT, it felt like it was going to break whenever I tried stuff on it, so Wookie dubbed it 'The Glass Bike' & the name stuck.

Nice, clean bike. But I'm more interested in the garage door. ;)

Err, I mean the solid looking padlock on the tilt-a-door - I need something like it. Might be time to visit a decent locksmith.

As a former locksmith I have to recommend a product called an ADI bolt. About $150, hardened steel bolt, captive key, excellent security rating. If fitted correctly (which is easy to do yourself) there is barely any room for a hacksaw blade to get to the bolt let alone any bolt cutters. And they can be keyed to your existing system or 'pick-proof' security locks & keys.

The lock pictured is just a 245 padlock with a straight shackle. Very cumbersom & awkward.

Thanks for the kind words about my bike! :)
