My iShit (iPod) cracked a spaz today and just suddenly froze, can't turn it off or use any of the functions, it's just frozen, the back light won't even turn off.

Has this happened to anyone else? If so, is there something you can do to fix it? or did Apple sort you out with warrenty?

For the record, it hasn't had any big drops, contact with water or anything that could trigger this, it was just sitting on my lap and then BAM.

have you tried things like plugging it into the wall/computer?

or doing the hold on-hold off, menu/play thingo to reset it?

hold the select button and the play/pause button for about 10 seconds and see if that does anything

Same thing happened to mine last year, frozen while playing all songs. Gave it to Stuart Plant at the 12 hour, came back working fine. Maybe go to the next WWS 8 hour and try? ;)

Though seriously try going to an apple dealer and get it on warranty. Failing that, i'd suggest next mp3 look for something not apple related.

it'll run out of batteries sooner or later

Make like an emo and cry about it, then cut yourself. Then, go out and buy an iRiver and write a song about the experience.

Press menu and centre button at the same time and hold down for 10 seconds. http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/five_rs/ Any problems after that call 133 622 (Apple phone number)

Sweet! That seemed to work. Cheers.

Tristan and Matt, please meet up sometime and do some activities involving shooting each other with live rounds.:)

holding the ipod in two hands, approach a wide and solid stance with your legs spaced wide apart, flat footed and legs stretched, allowing room for you arms to swing below yourself. Gripping the ipod in both hands, lower the ipod to the ground, arms outstretched and relaxed. Upon determination, heave the absolute shit out of the ipod by forcing you arms upwards as fast as you possibly can with as much force as applicable, releasing you hold of the ipod at the climax of your thrust. Run.
