Alright guys and gals,
With one weekend of back breaking, bobcat bobbing work behind us. The maestro, Geoff Cartwright ('Dirtz Traxn Trailz'), has done it again. In one weekend we have adddressed all of the drainage issues at SOPA and resurfaced the entire course. During this process a couple of changes needed to be made to improve the drainage around the track.
I will be doing the final dressing tomorrow but needless to say the Schoolies Comp has now taken on a whole new significance as we will be watching to see how the track is received and how it races for the upcoming State Series.
You may want to get down there during the week to get in a little extra practice. Spread the word to your fellow school MTBers.

P.S. Thanks to Mark Oliver for all his help and hope the ankle is feeling better mate.

Is this event free? Once again, any permission forms needed to be filled out or anything?

We are pretty happy with the track. The finish straight still needs to be raked, rolled and watered to bed in the renewed shapes (ran out of daylight!). But that's it. We will be doing this on Friday and giving the rest of the track a nice bedding in water, ready for the Schoolies to hit up the new shapes. (8m is the biggest..Alex Lloyd has already hit this one up and was pulling some really nice whips of the big step). If you guys look close you will see we have included some nice bonus transfers and alternate runs at the big stuff, just so the track is more fun to play on, outside of racing. Sorry no steak knives.
.
I Hope to see a heap of you guys there on Saturday.
