Hey guys, took my 05 stinky for a ride today which runs Sun Rims S-TYPE. When i got home i found i had a large flat spot. I'm kinda short on money so i cant take it to a LBS, but was wondering how i could fix it myself.....

Flatspot is there for life. If it's a buckle (I know you said flatspot but some people seem to confuse there two), you can usually true it out.

These rims seem to be notorious for flat spotting though, so I think you're going to have to deal with it for now, buy a new one when you get the money.

Good to know mayo, good to know.

If you've got experience in truing wheels, you might be able to get a bit of shape out of it, depending on how bad it is, but don't be surprised if even the LBS cant fix it. And if you've got no experience, it would be best to leave it how it is for now.

How bad is it?

I got loads of flatspots in my MTX, and so do many other people with them, and they're essentially the same rim as an S-Type. Probably wont matter.

if its bent inwards, just rip out the shifting spanner and bend it back out....
