Hey All

I spent 2hrs today riding around the southwest regional park.

Man this place would be the perfect place for a series of mtb trails. Does anyone know if this has ever been suggested considering the olympic Mtb track was right next door. It would be an awesome spot for an enduro. You could put km & km of trails. It has huge potential.

NB: just realised that NPWS manage it....not sure if this is a good thing......

Cheers

there is a mixed bag...but it is mostly mown grass up the hillside which is pretty good. There a little single around the tower...well worth looking at.

if allowed (thats a big IF) the place could be turned into a great MTB spot....i'd say the NPWS and the equestrian ppl would more than likely try to stop it....mmmm

First post of call would have to be the NPWS.

Being a regional park (as opposed to full blown NP, or Consercation Area) does open the door to the possiblity of trails, but it won't be a quick process to get there.

I'd suggest getting the backing of the nearest club (is that WSMTB), simply for the fact that being backed by an established group does help with being recognised by any arm of the govt.

But, unless this idea is chased, who knows if it will ever be possible to have trails there.
