Hey guys,
Has anyone been having problems with the Highline? Ive got a mate and he recently bought one. Hes pretty hard on his bikes and he wanted to take a step up from the RM Switch (which we later discovered has some hairline fractures in anyway).

Any he had the highline for a week before it snapped at both chainstays, he stacked it bigtime, broken shock etc etc. So turner/wherever he got it from were real good about replacing the busted bits, including cranks and so on. so props to them.

so he builds the bike up again, new chainstays with reinfrcing in what apparently was a known weak spot. a week after being built up and BANG! same thing again, different spot on the chainstay...this only happened friday so I cant say what the response has been from turner/wherever he got it from....

Anyway hes pretty pissed off as you can imagine , same as before shattered shock, bike, head etc etc

Has anyone else had these problems or heard of them or is he super unlucky?

Cheers

if hes broken two turners and a rocky mountain i would just say hes was too hard on his bikes and needs to change riding style, could be something wrong with the frames though

he had the rocky mountain for five years at least, im pretty sure. and it was only a small crack, not a complete failure, he was still riding with it.

the second time it broke he was jumping out of a car park, one foot kicker to downramp, and two metre distance and maybe one metre drop

Wow! I'm really surprised and I'm pretty sure the folks at Turner will be. First time I've heard of anyone breaking the new stays.
I suggest he get in touch with Greg at Turner and get it sorted. His email is greg@turnerbikes.com and he is the warranty guy. It sounds to me like he somehow got a stay from the faulty '06 batch again. I have no doubt they will look after him and have it sorted in no time.

it was definitely different to the first one - there was different welds. he was going to get in touch with them, if he hasnt already. they were really good last time it happened, im not sure if he dealt through you either, but he was very happy with the service he got. im not 100% what his plans are this time around.

i was surprised too - its a burly frame and hes pretty rough on his bikes but hes only small, he would only weigh 75kgs at most. weird.
