hey, just wondering whether i would be able to use this sprocket:
http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=11377
as a single speed front sprocket using a shadow conspiracy mk2 half link chain? If i can't, why?
would i have to go for the deity ss sprocket if i wanna run single speed and use the shadow half link chain? (don't really want it because i dont want the bashy)
thanks

with a shadow v2 chain, that sprocket would be okay. you would, however be better off with a bmx sprocket (one designed for 1/8" chains)

Theres going to be too much sideways movement while the chain is on the sprocket.
I tryed it out with spare parts i had lying around (38t Deity DH Sprocket & Shadow Chain V2) and like i predicted, there was way too much movement for me to reccomend you trying it on your bike.
If you want a Deity Sprocket that will work with your Shadow Chain your going to have to go with the SS Sprocket.

as BJ pointed out above, it will "work", but there will be way too much movement of the chain. if you are using a 1/8 chain, use a 1/8 sprocket

ummm i dunno but have you actually had a look at the ss sprocket? cause i see 3 bolts holding that bashy on, but then again my eyes could be playing tricks on me;)

BMX cranks, obviously?
the best you can get is Tree. odyssey, animal, and wtp are also worth looking at.
what ratio are you wanting to run?

well i will most probably have a 16t rear because thats what comes with the ss kit, so i'd be after about 34 which limits my options because most of the bmx ones stop at about 30 or so

spend an extra $10-15 and get an odyssey cog - this means you can get down as low as 12t, and so can run better ratios and can get decent sprockets. im running 25:12, but 28:13 or 30:14 would also be good

yep or should be able to get one in quickly for you. running a decent cog (ie not the POS that comes with a spacer kit) also is better with 1/8" chains, will last longer, and will not damage your freehub body like a shitty one will
