I have an '06 Stinky that I bought really cheaply late last year but I haven't been using it much as all the good tracks are a bit of a cycle away & I don't know anyone doing runs.

Some of the tracks you cant really get at them other than riding to them. My XC bike tends to get a good workout at the moment.

Would it be worth getting a 400mm seat post, & a Fox Float RP3 shock with Propedal so I can pedal it for a few hours? 160mm travel 07 MARZOCCHI ALL MOUNTAIN SL should be much better than the Drop offs that are on there at the moment, right?

I could sell the Drop offs & the DHX3.0 to go towards the new parts, so that would cut the costa little.

It could make for a good strong all mountain bike, maybe. Any ideas? Should I just get rid of the stinky & save up for something like a Reign XO?

hmmmm.... yer i think it would be best if you were to sell it and buy a proper all moutain bike, as even with all these upgrades/downgrades:p the frame will still be way too heavy for an all mountain bike... plus i think it would be such a waste to stripp apart a stinky like that:( if the bike is still in awsome condition just sell it and buy an all mountain bike, you may loose some money by doing this but you will loose way more if you mod your stinky and realise you dont like it:o

cheers

I've seen it done before on MTBR forums with a DHX air and 36's... And damn was it awesome. I reckon a DHX air would be a good idea to keep the weight down but still keep the ability to do some big hits, It also means you can pump it right up for some more smooth riding. As for 36's... well I'd recommend them so if you can afford them then why the hell not!

I reckon it'd go really well

Yes! that is a fantastic idea. The Kona could handle the work you want to do but not quite as efficiently or with the same finess as a bike designed to do it in the first place.

stinky = gay, but its your choice. Have a look on the net for some good cheap parts.
