Race 2 of CORC's 07/08 Cross Country series was held today on the slopes of Mount Stromlo. The turnout was 214 riders, including 30 women. On balance, a reasonable tough course when you look at the Senior Men's times - and racing up and over the 4X mound 6 times can't have been too much fun!
Perfect weather, not a spec of dust in sight, funny fluffy green stuff on the ground and some riders actually hit trees (that were green and upright - the trees, that is). Amazing what a bit of rain will do.
Some race results, series results so far, and photos...

And some more snaps of the happy riders once they'd made it to the top of the 4X mound.

I took all these (from the venue sign at the top of the 4X). I don't know who else was out there snapping away - will try to find out.

Thanks Schacksta but I can't take any credit. Adam Herbst and his merry men (and women) organised that one:) Thanks to Leanne, I could even get out of the timing tent and go for a wander up the hill!

The photographer was from ozeventphoto. They have been sent the photographers rider index (also available for download here). If you email them at ozeventphoto@bigpond.com with your name or number (or your fashion on the day) they can sort something out with you. For the Canberra crowd, they will also be having an album on display at Bike Culture in the O'Connor Shops nect week.
