Hiya all,
how's things? Did we all weather the storms well? Hope so.

I posted in another part of the forum, but I don't think it was appreciated as it has completely disappeared :) I don't have access for the trading area so I was wondering if someone here could help?

I have a friend who is wanting to buy some forks, though at the moment he's torn between the Rock Shox Judy J2 with pop lock or the Manitou Elite 100. Can anyone make a suggestion here? All I know about Rock Shox is that my Recons had to be repaired with me not even having gone off road with them as yet (something I am finally hoping to do in the next couple of weeks).

Also, does anyone know if anyone has some for sale?

Thanks for your patience,

Ace :)

Rock shox are great forks, sounds like you got a set of dodgey ones, my recons have been perfect since day 1.

There both fairly low on the food chain, but the questions i need answered first are, what type of rideing is he/she doing? what does he/she weigh approx*?
What bikes it for?
and finaly why these 2 forks? do they have price range in mind?

Cent help with the availability second hand though, id try ebay, but be careful to find out about there back round first These come on rec bikes that are usualy abused by young boys (bit of a generalisation but alot do).

Heheh,

we went the ebay way...I think we did well by not getting the highest bid :)

He's got a hardtail cross country bike, something he bought from Cell bikes and he's gradually updating the parts as the frame itself is a good one. He would be somewhere in the 60-75kg range in weight.

Price range for second hand no more than $200, new $300 to $400.

As for those particular forks I think it was a case of liking what he read about them. My Recons have been fine since they were repaired, though they sound like a little squeaky toy when they depress fully *laugh*
