(hint: it'd help if you used somewhat decent spelling and grammar).
Edit: whoops, I didn't realise that the specs were out already... no doubt it'll be great value for money like they have been the past few years.
Anyway, I think you've just made the first 2008 STP thread, congratulations :D

The 2008 stp1 kicks sh*t all over the '07 one.
'08 has: dj 2's, Shimano hydro brakes
'07 has: dirtjam pros, hayes brakes.
Out of the couple of specs that i have posted the 2008 is a much better bike. It is the same price as the one in 2007 but with much better parts.
I think they make for great all round bikes. The price is $1495.00
The Performance giant range comes out closer to the end of the year.
Hope this helps a bit

I don't care, provided that new year's day is surrounded by lots of flashing neon lights, so that the bastards can see when the bloody thing begins.

Well seeming as theyve ditched the truvativ cranks, im wondering whether the stp0 will have rock shox forks on it. You never know i could be a possibility.

Just incase someones clueless..
I'm reeeeeeally not liking the paint job. Kinda just going the way of a million other bikes..
I mean, Giant are one of, if not the largest bike company in the world (please correct me if I'm wrong), couldn't they get something like the PAINT job right?

i reckon the paint job from the 07 model was better

i reckon it would be the best bike ever.....if you put a better stem on it......smaller width hangers (that's what i like)....and a better seat cause from experience the stp's seats feel like you are sitting on a house brick especially if you are riding for a while

I beg to differ.
I think alot of people on these forums would disagree with the stp being the best bike ever.

Possibly the best bike ever, just with a few little changes:
New frame
New forks
New wheels
New brakes
New all the little bits I can't be ask listing
Then it'd be sweet...

The 08 stp1 is in stock at Dandenong Superstore, with a retail of $1495.
as well as the upgrades previously mentioned (over the 07 model) it also has RhynoLite Rims in cool camo colours, upgraded derailleur, etc.
The Stp Zero is supposedly coming out about Oct/November with the rest of the Giant range. They delay the top end release until the new Sram/Shimano stuff comes out so they can put the new stuff on the top end bikes.
What's the problem with companies (esp. Giant) releasing 08 stuff early? It's partially to do with the financial year ending, but they also get the jump on other companies new releases by a couple of months. New releases are good whenever they occur, especially as 07 Giants are getting very hard to find in common sizes.

For starters the o7 does not have dirt jam pros....they have dj3's and apart from the brakes that are diffrent ( even though hayes is much better then shimano) my mate has an 08 and even he thinks my 07 is much better.... for starters the 07 doesnt feel like bmx the 08 bars are flater and the whole geometry of the bike is higher. the only thing that i find are better are the cranks ( whick you cant tell when your riding anyway)

Regardless of your opinion, the '08 stp1 is better than the 2007 model. That's a fact. You should probably check the date of this thread too, it's rather old.
