Well it was time to move on from the old 2002 Turner DHR with 5" of play each way (yup boys would know), more lateral then vertical. The bike was 5 years old and sealed its fate on a calm afternoon snapping the 105 rear mech into 3 pieces, on top of that its lateral play and a frame just waiting to crack... for the 4th time.

The new rig, 2002 Balfa BB7 (yes same year), refurbished with white powdercoat after another hack rider (no not tu plang) completely fucked out the linkage plates. Kindly farkin member tu plang picked up the rig and turned the once hunk of shit into something worth riding. This bike features ex rider tu plang in Clict on a rare occasion of where it faced dirt.

Anyway onto the specs.

Looking nice Mugs!

Your rear mech looks like it's taken a few knocks though!

Got any pics of the Turner after she died? Would like to gawk at the destruction!

Rides amazing, hits the rock gardens alot smoother then the turner due to the higher BB. Corners nice even with the higher BB (feels higher anyway), very plush too.

Took it out for some runs today so here's some shots.

Forks using up a bit of travel there...

Slides nicely....

Bit more, the hope brakes are still beding in, lots of squeeling which is a bit annoying but at least they stop in a hurry.

It managed to hold the inside line well here, didn't come to a dead set stop to face plant...

Johnny, turner perish shots coming.

If anything the bike needs a new seat, the one on it now detracts from the look. I'm still trying to get the forks set, they're not using full travel. Any ideas on what to switch the oil too? I think they've got slightly heavier oil to stop diving....

Very sexy looking bike!

Can you notice any difference with the Goodridge lines or is it just a bling thing?

Um actually we were having issues with the rear brake pumping up as cutting the line would cause the line to fray a little bit making the fluid not completely come back so we had to buy new pistons and seals as well as recut the line, but havn't had a test with normal lines...

hah! we?

in answer to the question, the standard lines felt pretty good but the goodridge were cheap so I had to try them out :p. definitely made the front feel better but I had issues with the rear pumping up, it was accentuated by a small bit of stickie-outie (tech term) plastic that was pushed up when installing the fitting but even fixing this didnt solve the problem. new pistons and seals have got it going however.

basically, the lines will make a brand new brake feel better but because the ID is a lot narrower, it seems to make pump-up an issue if you have worn pistons/seals.

Corners nice even with the higher BB (feels higher anyway), very plush too.I think the higher pivot will be making more difference in the rock gardens than the high BB(accept for hitting them with the BB),the rear wheels moving slightly backwards with the rocks, rather than the Turners frame dragging the swingarm and wheel into them(guessing DHR).
Great bike you've got there.
Are the forks over full of oil?
