Hey, the R9 needed a face lift so a paint job and a bit o love and it came out schmick!
The 66 ata's work well tho they do take some setting up. Anyone had much experience with them? They are pretty good but to get them working properly I set the air pressures are alot less than the chart recommend.

Thanks! I ran 66s when they first came out on an old r9, but this one is heaps better. Short frame and better angles, love the singles. Cheers for the comments lads.

Thanks. The snow pic was Boxing day at Mt Buller '04. It was awesome to ride in the snow, no powder tho, just slush. International track had just received all of the wooden berms and it was slippery as hell. There was no chicken wire on them yet so it was a guess if u would stay up.

If only u would bloke. ahh, the good old days.:)

We will be importing them soon through Endo Imports. I have no idea on price, the pair on the R9 are some i got from a friend ages ago. They've been my favorite rotors for ages now.

does it feel weird having 9 inches of travel at the back and only 6 inches at the front ? wouldnt it make the geo all whack or does it make it better?
very nice bike by the way
cheers blake

Nah, it's 7 at the front and i tend to ride more rear wheel than front anyhoo. The Avy is dampened really hard so the end of the stroke really only is used for g-outs and harsh stuff. I like that combo. I like 8' on the rear with softer shocks but the Avy is great at 9. It's still only a 9' shock eye to eye with 3' stroke.

Looking very very trick Petri! Loving the white, and how much better does the new one ride compared to your old one? Cos your old one rode awesome from when i rode it at Nerrina a long time ago.

Shorties smash the old ones as far as cornering goes. they are 35mm shorter and a tad lower and slacker than the old R9.. That was a long time ago dude.

Hi,
I have ATA on my Marz AM SL1's I've found that there is a lot of stickiness for the few few weeks or so (depends on how much you ride I guess) and yes the pressures on the chart are a little high. I've sent a few emails to marzocchi, and they said it would be ok to run a little less in the top as long as you keep plenty of pressure in the PAR valve.
Just another thing to be careful with is the actual cap that you adjust the travel with, make sure it's well attached to your forks because yesterday mine flew off and now it's lost in the bush somewhere... I hope I can get another one...
Sweet rig Petri... you always seem to do a sweet individual spec on all your bikes! Have you still got your splinter mx?

Yeah.... they have a few teething problems, i've done a fair bit of work on those ones, check that you're not losing pressure out of the top, they tended to bleed a tad. I'm sure this fork will become a ripper after a little more refinement.

Ta Alex.... Yeah I still have it. Trying to decide what build to do on it next. I tried to sell it a while back when i really needed cash for but i'm glad it didn't go.... i'm not going to get rid of it now, too attached and i don't know if Frank will ever make more. check the one out in these thumbnails, it's from a lad in usa.....
it looks great, kinda got me inspired to do something with mine again.

What's up with them?
they leaked air twice and now theres something wrong with the stanchion or the lowers because they wobble around. i dont no if my forks are faulty or it will hapen to every sl1 ata fork

okay, the air thing is easy to sort but u really should see someone about them wobbling... that shouldn't happen.
If u bought them legit contact Groupe Sportif (or the shop u got them thru can) and send them back to Marzocchi to fix. Otherwise find someone here u who knows how Marzocchi ata system works and get them to inspect them. They are easy to work on if u know those forks. Don't ride on them if there is seriously something not right, u could really damage them or yourself.
You're not talking about the front wheel being loose are you (just a shot in the dark)
