im about to rebuild my foundry mfg as a bit of a 4x/all around sled, i have most of the stuff sorted out but im stuck on fork choice
im not a real weight weenie but id like to keep the weight down a bit if possible
i was pointed in the drection of RS recon's, but im thinking maybe they are a bit to 'XC' for what im going to use them for
then there is the usual suspects like pikes, fox, and manitou
keeping in mind im only running QR front hub too
id love to hear some opinions from some of you lot

A mate of mine is running Rockshox Revelations on his 4x bike. They seem to be handling the abuse well. 100mm travel, qr and their fairly light too.

Fox float dropped to 100mm, or a Marzocchi AM1/2/3, also dropped and chopped.

I am running Recon's on my norco ht. Just had them put on about a week ago. They are nice and light and feel pretty stiff. They are also pretty adjustable to tune them in how you like. Plus they aren't too expensive. Hope this helps you.

Rockshox Revelations (in Air U-turn) or Fox Talas. Both are light and stiff, and the travel adjustment means you can set the bike up exactly how you want.

Talas 32's, QR axle, light, stiff and a reasonable level of adjustments (depending on model)
Never heard a bad word about 'em ;)

Yeah hones are good cranks, the dual ring version is quite strong and heaps of people use them for DH and DJ. As long as you aren't super heavy they will be fine for what your doing. Another option is Shimano XT cranks, they are very light and stiff, from personal experience they hold up quite well.
