A new wheelset will just round off a mint package.

Looks like you got a sweet deal:)

Yes it is a Jackal well observed, asides from the bars and headset? Read the specs idiot.

Nice Jackal mate, well done.

Can we not clog up this thread with silly remarks please. Back to the jackal, looks really good. The black frame with white seat, bars and stem has turned out really well. What wheelset are you considering to purchase?

Thanks for the replies.
For the record, Hardinge915 built the bike. All I have done is add the pedals, seat and seat post, and the grips (which were meant to be black:mad:)

As for the wheelset Im not quite sure yet.

I wanted green anodised hubs to match the frame and CK headset. But the only green hubs I know are CK, and obviously very expensive.

So far Im pretty set on Mavic 721s, black DT spokes. Its just the hubs that are proving difficult to make a decision.

But I've got plenty of time to decide as I dont have the money now anyway:D

Mate it looks superb. To keep it Nice and Simple you cant go past the Hope Pro 2 in black.

I seriously wouldnt bother with CK hubs because they are the biggest rort. Something like 600 bucks for a rear hub I have been told.

Have run ripping up on it anyway mate

Cheers

Looks good with the changes Greg, with the hubs... leave it with me.. I got a mate who should be able to hook you up with some nice custom ano green hubs. Ill give him a buzz and let ya know..

Thanks Dan. I robbed a few parts off my giant :)

Don't ask too seriously, I've got little money left to splash at the moment:p

I pulled the front hub apart today and re-lubed it so it runs better. Still a little scratchy though.

Yeah now worries about asking.. will be good to know how much you'll be up for.. Generic hubs.. what can you do.. haha. If you have any worries with it gimmie a shout.

Updates.

Just got my new wheelset made. Little bit lighter and a hell of a lot stronger than my previous set.

Hope pro II 20mm hub laced to Mavic 721 on the front, and a hope Pro II SS hub laced to another 721 for the rear.

Super happy with the new wheelset, apart from the insanely loud hub. Not sure if I like the sound or if its annoying. But I can live with it as they roll super smooth:D

As above, everything looks and suits the frame very well, but not the seatpost, and the big ass chainring/bashring setup.

Cheers Guys.

As for the seat post. Im tall lol. Its good to slide up for the commute to where ever Im going to ride...

The chainring is quite small, but the bashie is a little over kill. But its proved handy already... Especially when I miss timed a abubaca and slipped off:p

Thanks for the comments.

Nice looking jacKal you have there. I was contemplating buying the jackal from harding, making my collection of jackals up to two but decided against it in the end.

Love the look of the white stem.

Are you running the horizontal dropouts?

giant_greg
25-07-2007, 04:20 PM
Yeah Im running the horizontals for the singlespeed. Alot easier than a tensioner...

Yeah I dont want to go crazy with the white, at the moment I think its just right. Not overdone.

One day I'll probably get sick of it and go to black anyway.:D
