i was kinda bored this morning so i started mucking around in photoshop and knocked up this quick comic. now ive been inspired to make a MTB comic, something along the lines of a DH run or skatepark session. you know dramatise it all and use all the old comic book conventions like the "whoosh" words. gimme some ideas and i'll go out and take some photos, then do it up in comic book style. btw its pretty easy to do, i just coloured over the top of an existing photo and made it look cartoony. i think it turned out pretty well for my first go, still got to muck around to get the shading right. the shirt is pretty hard to do to show all the creases and such. lemme know what you think, whether i should just quit or try and make a mini comic. :)

I don't understand when you say you "made it look cartoony". Isn't this how everybody sees the world normally?
Yeh looks good.

Maybe he's got a shitty outlook on life?
Umm, anyway, why don't you make a cheesy main character, madcorekid or something. Have the adventures of MCK, and his madcore antics, such as jumping buses out the front of his school whilst screaming teenage girls throw their underwear at him?
Oh, wait, wrong sort of animation :x

Hi good job . try this
1. Load your imag into photoshop
2. Change it to grayscale (Image-Mode-Grayscale)
3. Click yes to discard color info
4. Run a Filter-Blur-SmartBlur using the following params
radius 10
threshold 25
quality high
mode edge-only
5. adjust the sliders on an image-to-image basis to make the lines clear
6. hit ok
7. image-adjustments-invert
8. convert the image to rgb (image-mode-rgb color)
9. use the paintbucket tool to color it
check out a before and after picture of an example i put together:
