REtro, nice find man intresting watch. Imagine the arm pump with that little suspension, but i guess tracks where alot smoother then (correct me if i'm wrong)
And why did some of the racers have water bottles and water bottle holders?

That was great to watch! It's amazing to think that those guys were riding bikes that are at about the level of todays $600 bottom of the line bikes.
Great find!

How things have changed. Jimmy Deaton did it with his seat up high, lycra on and water bottle attached!

are you sure that that was DH, they had their seats up really high? and riding hard tails, boy has DH changed
How much has downhill changed in the years. Riding bikes which almost look like their cross country bikes and have hardly any front suspension. Great vid though.

ha, instead of the 8" duallys and tc's with disk brakes there is hard tails with rim brakes and probs less than 100mm travel forks.

Unreal! Cullinan, Tomac........some of the names that have shaped the sport that we all enjoy. The track doesn't look too different to the current standards. Obviously there is some minor changes but they are still fast!
Fantastic stuff.
