Well firstly i bought the Caad8 (black) from my bikeshop. Went riding for a while and upon cleaning it for the first time i realized there was a white line across the top of the weld and in the warning sticker it was kind of bumpy. I took it into the shop where i bought it and they said they will get the rep to look at it. A few days later i had a phone call saying that a brand new Caad9 frame will be coming my way in brushed aluminium at no cost at all.:)
I probably should have got some pictures of the weld where the suspected crack was to put up but i didnt think of it, now it is in the shop and getting sent back to Cannondale. I was also told that it was unsure wether it was a crack or not but they said replace it just to be safe.

Pictures:(will try and get better ones of Caad9 and i dont know wether or not this will work??)

isnt it great when something breaks and they give you something brand new in return, it almost makes all the hassle worth it.

btw nice bike

Nice bikes! I love my CAAD9's, I've got a raw brushed with full Dura Ace and a blue with Ultegra. They seem to be about the perfect bike for me here in Perth. Stiff for sprinting, compliant enough for the super smooth roads, and with a carbon seatpost cancels enough of the road buzz on the more rural roads. Weight is pretty good for an all aluminium frame, and seeing as there are bugger all hills here it doesn't matter that much.

So what do the roadies out there think of Caad 9's? Much differant between it and a Caad8 do you think?

I was tossing up getting a CAAD8 when I got the second CAAD9, from what I understand the CAAD9 is stiffer where it matters to me in the BB and headtube. As for comfort, I'm told both are as comfortable as each other. When it came down to it the store cut me a good deal on the CAAD9 and the price difference was negligible, so I went for the CAAD9.
