What upgrades would u recommend for $200-$700 new only. Also to loose weight. I included the spec sheet so u can see the stock parts. The bike is all stock apart from the Maxxis tyres.

i am thinking of getting one too. they will handle downhill and i have been told you can swap the linkage plates to give it a slacker head angle.

BS. Wake up people.

6 wins means shite. It was the rider. Amiel rode one, sure, but he's a freak.

The faith is/was/always will be the most hidious bike EVER. It rode like a DOG, and even the Giant people (Giants??) will confess that. Why do you thinkg it only lasted a season before being scrapped? I'd rather buy a hardtail.

Then again, Giant like to re-invent themselves every season haha;)

$2000 - $3000k?? Why not go NEW.

Yes, it is possible with the 2008 Norco Atomik!! NO ONE can come close. NO ONE.

One word. Glory. Especialy from new. No use with faiths, they're old, they have no maestro linkage. Gay. The 08 Glory series now has a cheaper one, should be about $3500. If your racing, this is a bingo.

they have no maestro linkage.
Wrong, it is a VPP type bike, just like all the current Giants.

There are a few around at races, and they seem to get down the hill without too much trouble.

agreed they ride very nice, corner well and soak up anything you can throw at them. for a first DH bike i cant fault them, the only reason im considering upgrading is i want something with less travel and is more of a all mountain/free ride.

and if you havent noticed the rear swing arm/ 4 bar what ever its called is the same as the glory's

opt for a lighter front fork, the 66vf2's are bloody heavy, that an a lighter wheel set. thats really the main weight saving upgrades you can do

Hey Bloke, I got a Faith 2 06 - Second DH/FR bike couldnt be happier, until i upgraded. Corners awesome makes up for little xtra weight, Solid build last thing youll break is the frame and it is a Maestro Linkage.

1st thing to upgrade is the cassette ,remove front xtra chain ring derailluer and shifter. Get over the idea youre ever riding up hills on this thing.

Shifters are getting dated but unless your going XO in SRAM dont really see why you would spend the money on X9 unless you get the upgraded shifter. or just go XTR seems its the Fashion this week.

Only other thing is a decent chain guide now youre single front and maybe the DHX3.0 to 5.0 on the back but thats some cash and While youre not gunna break the Easton bars and stems you could go for some Bling.

Oh and the stock peddal and tyres were dodgy as but youve already changed the tyres.

The wheels are where the weight is on the Faith 2 but unless u got 1000-1500 spare dont worry to much about it, there heavy ass but tough.

Go find a cliff and plummet of it wooohahaha
