I have been trying to disassemble the rear hub on my Specialized Epic.
It is listed as a DT Swiss Custom SL 32 hole Disc. Obviously a cartridge bearing hub.
I can remove the casette okay and one of the lock nuts on the non cassette side of the hub.
But how do you remove the other nut as there is nothing to grip onto on the otherside of the axle once oneside is loosened.
Once the first nut is loosened and removed the other end of the axle shaft is simply a threaded end which is impossible to grip and stop spinning whilst trying to undo the other nut.
The only thing I could think of was getting a third nut and winding it onto the side that I can unwind along with the nut for that side, and using the additional nut as a lock nut so that I can get the otherside undone. Is this on the right track?
Any help would be really appreciated.
