I haven't heard of any breaking ? I have heard of one pair bending from a crash though. Mine are 3 years old , I ride DH most weekends , but no hucking.
Love em !

It's not just protapers. All aluminium bars fatigue over time. Some people replace bars after a year or so, whether they have been bent or not. I haven't lately, because I haven't been riding as much DH as I used to. Though if you ride a lot it's better than spitting teeth and rocks out of your mouth. The only bars I've seen break suddenly (both not protapers btw) were very old (almost 5 years), and the other set had a nice groove at the stem-bar interface due to poor finishing of the stem.

No, ProTapers most definetly are DH bars.

What the hell? Answer Protapers are THE best DH bars ever. Saying that though alloy sure does fatigue...DH bars i reckon should be replaced after 2 years or about 10 massive stacks, coz they take a smashing when you crash especially with dual crowns coz the bars can't spin.
