Hey Mate,

I did the same thing to my shoulder two months ago Snowboarding. Good news but i have been going to the physio and am now back on the bike and better than ever beside the lump on my left shoulder. I am looking to get the Shoulder opperated on later this year and to get rid of the freakish lump but i would not sell your bike to soon mate. I would almost bet that you would be able to ride with in about a month.
I was back on my bike riding Mt Stromlo downhill track within 4-6 weeks. Get physio on it asap. Ice it for at least two weeks every night. I also rubbed this stuff called Arnica in to it, which is for sprains and dilocations. The brand was Sunspirit or something like that.
Hey if you have any other questions about the injury send me a message.

Hope this helps Buddie

Yer excactly the same thing, and same shoulder even.

It was a grade three and also disloctaed, My Doc said the verdect is still out on wether this sort of injury needs to be opperated on or not. It just depends who you speak to. My Doc prefere3d to not opperate but i have to see a specialist in late october to get it fully checked out. I also had another mate do the same thing on his bike and he did not have surgery either.

Both of us have full movement and strenght back.

OUCH!!. Go the surgury, and all should be good. My better half had a grade 5 seperation a few years back (and snapped all the ligaments), she is up and riding again. Good luck with it all and remember, morphine is your friend. Just go easy on it or no poo poo for a week.

After putting my body through hell I have ended up needing reconstructions to both shoulders. Most the time if I crash heavily they will sublax, (partially separate inwards), and as a result I have damaged both rotator cuffs.

To put a long story short, if the surgery won't send you broke, get the surgery. There is nothing worse than knowing that you can't even dive in a pool without your shoulder falling out of place.

Either that or hit the gym real hard.
