One of Australia's best freestyle motocross riders, Jono Porter passed away today.

Jono was injured in a crash at the Mr Motocross Outdoor National round at Coolum on the Sunshine Coast over the weekend. He was airlifted to Nambour hospital, operated on and placed in a medically induced coma from which he never woke.

In the race of his life from the moment of the crash, Jono finally let go of the throttle at around 4pm AEST today.

The Farkin.net crew and our community wish to express our sincerest condolences to the Porter family and those close to Jono for their loss. Jono was an inspiration to everyone who loved bikes and dirt and his presence will be missed by many on the Australian scene.

Post a message of support to Jono's family at ozmotox.com.
