The life of a NORBA Pro during the off-season isn't all endless shuttles and testing Madcatz gear, you have to go through the pain of sessioning wicked jump trails with world famous photographer Shawn Spomer there to document it all.

Cairns local Bryn Atkinson isn't attending the World Championships despite making the Australian team but by the looks of these photos he's still having a damn good time tearing it up in NorCal.

Spomer says "3 days ago, I was able to spend some time in the presence of Bryn Atkinson in Northern California.

At a local slalom race, the starter called him Bryan, and I laughed. I'd heard he hates that. I think it's hilarious, but I don't say it to his face because he doesn't really laugh too hard, and he's way tougher than I am.

Here's a taste of his nastiness. Bryn, oozing style like an infected sore oozes pus.

Bryn, it was a pleasure to see you kill it. Good luck out east."
